The front edge of the thunderstorms was at the Lake-Cook border at 6:25 p.m. Also, a light outer flow boundary was just starting to cross the Lake-Cook boundary at 5:20 p.m. The southbound outer flow boundary sped ahead and was more than halfway through the top half of DuPage County and Cook County at 6:25 p.m. The line of thunderstorms slowed down significantly and appears to hit a dry area in north and northwest Cook County. On radar the image looks like a dry hole over north and northeast Cook County.
