Arlington Hts, Schaumburg Police Catch 3 Juveniles in Stolen Ford Explorer Near Hyatt Regency Woodfield

Police arrest three juveniles on Golf Road near Woodfield.

Mount Prospect police received a report just before 7:20 p.m. Friday that an owner’s white Ford Explorer was stolen from the 1700 block of Chariot Court in an apartment complex off of Busse Road. The victims said his SUV was left running with the keys in the car, and was last seen “ten minutes ago.”

Mount Prospect police notified area police departments of the stolen SUV, and just after 7:45 p.m. an alert Arlington Heights police officer spotted the vehicle at a stop light on Golf Road at Arlington Heights Road. The vehicle was headed westbound, and when the Arlington Heights squad’s emergency lights were activated, the suspects continued westbound on Golf Road at almost 60 mph. Schaumburg police waited near the Route 53 underpass and the vehicle was stopped in the 1800 block of East Golf Road near the Hyatt Regency Woodfield. Police discovered three juveniles in the car. Several police units from Arlington Heights, Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows and Schaumburg surrounded the three suspects in the SUV, and all three were in custody by 8:00 p.m.

The three male/juveniles were transported to Mount Prospect Police Department Headquarters. The Ford Explorer was returned to the owner.
