Bill Gross Dumps All US Debt at PIMCO

Bill Gross, founder of the world’s biggest bond fund at Pacific Investment Management Co., eliminated government-related debt from his flagship fund last month as the U.S. projected record budget deficits.

William “Bill” Hunt Gross is an American financial manager and investment author who co-founded Pacific Investment Management (PIMCO). Gross also runs PIMCO’s $252.2 billion Total Return Fund.

Gross is one of the world’s largest mutual fund managers, focusing mostly on bonds. Bill Gross is called “the nation’s most prominent bond investor” by the New York Times. Bill Gross co-founded Pacific Investment Management (PIMCO) and currently manages PIMCO’s Total Return fund (the world’s largest bond fund and fifth largest mutual fund). He also manages several smaller funds.

In 2007 he was ranked the 380th richest person in America and the 897th richest person in the world by Forbes. He was reported to have a net worth of $1.3 billion. In 2009 he was named the world’s 32nd most powerful man by Forbes.
