Family Car Hits School Bus Head-on: 4 Killed in Williams Family Car

Police say two young children and their parents were killed when their car collided head-on with a school bus on a rural road in southeastern North Carolina.

Brunswick County Sheriff, Brunswick County EMS, and North Carolina Highway Patrol responded about 4:00 p.m. to a fatal head-on crash on Camp Branch Road near NC 211.

Joshua S. Williams, 31, his wife, Brandy N. Williams, 30, and their children Gavin L. Williams, 6, and Joshua K. Williams, 9, were killed when their car collided with a Waccamaw Elementary School on Camp Branch road NW near Green Swamp Road NW. The family lived on Green Swamp Road in Ash, North Carolina.

The bus driver and the only student onboard the bus suffered minor injuries.

The Williams’ car apparently crossed the center line of the two-lane road and struck the bus head-on where the posted speed limit is 55 mph.

Supply is a small unincorporated community in Brunswick County, North Carolina, USA located around the intersection of US 17 (Ocean Highway) and NC 211 (Southport-Supply Road/Green Swamp Road). Its name is derived from the use of the Lockwoods Folly River as a trade route in the 18th and 19th centuries.
