Police Chase Snow Plow from Wood Dale, Elmhurst, to Addison: Stolen Chevy Tahoe Rammed Squad Cars

Elmhurst initiated a pursuit with a stolen gray 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe on eastbound Grand Avenue from York Road about 2:30 a.m. For safety reasons, the pursuit was terminate a few minutes later, but a second Elmhurst police squad picked up after sighting the vehicle at eastbound Winters from Joyce winding to northbound Roberta passing Grand Avenue.

Franklin Park police reported following the vehicle on westbound Grand Avenue from York Road. Franklin Park terminated the chase for safety reasons at about Grand Avenue and Church Road. The offender driving the Tahoe was ramming squad cars with the plow.


Wood Dale Police then picked up the pursuit on Central northbound from 3rd, which continued eastbound Red Oak from Central. Next the Tahoe was taken off road in the woods along Route 83 and came a stop at Red Oak and Pine. The driver, described as a male/white bailed out of the Tahoe on took off on foot.

Snow was just starting to fall, according to weather reports, and no snow tracks were likely. Elk Grove police responded with a K-9 (possibly two) and Arlington Heights police responded with a K-9.

No word on capture of the stolen Tahoe suspect.
