Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:50 PM Sunday to a report of a woman who fell and was trapped in a window well in the 1000 block of West Marion Road. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a report that a woman heard another woman calling for help as she passed by a house in the 1000 block of West Marion Road.

An approximately 80-year-old woman fell in a 5-foot window well and was calling for help and another woman heard her cries for help. She apparently had been trapped for about 90 minutes.

Firefighter/paramedics possibly used a webbing strap to make a custom sling to lift the woman safely out of the window well.

No information available regarding whether the woman was transported to the hospital.
