Arrested: Highly Intoxicated Man Outside Penang Restaurant, Algonquin and New Wilke Fights with Police

An Arlington Heights police officer on patrol about 4:50 p.m. Wednesday discovered a highly intoxicated 59-year-old man near Algonquin Road and New Wilke Road. The police officer called for an ambulance for the well-being of the man, but the man put up a fight with the police officer.

Police activity was seen in the area with several backup units responding from Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows police departments. The area was secured immediately, and extra police officers were released.

The man was arrested and transported to the Northwest Community Hospital by Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics and accompanied by police.

The man was charged with battery.
