Illinois State Police and Glenview, North Maine FPD, and Niles firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:00 AM Thursday May 31, 2018 to a report of a semi-trailer truck fire 42.083942, -87.865960 (NB I-294 and Lake Ave Glenview, IL). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a semi-trailer truck fire on the right shoulder.
Firefighters on scene reported the cargo involved refrigerated foods on fire in the trailer. Prospect Heights FPD Airport Crash Truck 39 was requested by 6:20 a.m. A fire involving the truck’s brakes extended to the trailer and the cargo.
Northbound traffic on the Tri-State (I-294) was backed up past I-290 at 8:30 a.m.
