Suspicious Subject Hiding in Backyards on Seegers Turns Out to Be Missing Runaway, Liquor Theft Suspect

Arlington Heights police responded about 9:30 PM Tuesday to a report of a suspicious male in the 500 block of East Seegers. Police received a report that the supicious male was running in backyards and appeared to be hiding from someone. The subject was described as a male/black, short, in his 20’s, wearing a blue hoodie and black jeans.

Police caught up with the subject in the back of 2175 South Tonne in a parking lot.

The male in his teens was found to be a missing runaway that appeared to be impaired — possibly by alcohol or another substance.

Police transported the male in custody to Arlington Heights police headquarters. The subject was also being investigated as a suspect in an earlier retail theft of liquor at Jewel-Osco, 1860 South Arlington Heights Road about 5:15 p.m.

When the subject was brought to police headquarters, paramedics were called for his well-being, and the male was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
