Video of Arlington Heights Fire Department response to a car fire that was held to a small fire in the engine compartment.

A car fire in the intersection at New Wilke and White Oak blocked southbound New Wilke at about 3:15 p.m. Friday. The fire was knocked before it did any heavy damage to the Buick Le Sabre — only a small amount of flames were visible from debris that fell to the ground under the engine compartment. Smoke from the fire was also light and kept to a minimum thanks to a quick cooling of the engine compartment with a hose from an Arlington Heights Fire Department engine crew. No injuries were reported.

A ladder tower also responded and provided southbound lane blockage for the safety of fire crews.
