White Liquid with Strange Odor Spilling Into Lake Briarwood, Cleaned Up

Mount Prospect Fire Department responded about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to a report that a white liquid with a strange odor was spilling into Lake Briarwood near the 2900 Briarwood Drive West. A second resident also reported the incident. Mount Prospect firefighters checked upstream. State police were contacted, since the liquid was coming from the direction of Interstate 90. State police did not know of any incidents in the area.

A private contractor was called to clean the spill.
