DUI: Chicago Police Officer, Off Duty, Collides with Tow Truck

Jon Cacciatore, 43, an off-duty Chicago police officer, charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after a Christmas Eve crash southbound Dan Ryan Expressway express lane at 43rd Street [MAP/SAT]. His Blood-Alcohol Content (BAC) surpassed the legal limit.

The crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. when Cacciatore collided with a tow truck stopped on call to repair a flat on another stopped vehicle. Cacciatore is injured in critical condition at Stroger Hospital. The tow truck driver was also injured. His condition unknown.

FLASHBACK: St. Louis Cardinal Josh Hancock was killed instantly from head injuries (Sunday, April 29, 2007 at 12:41 a.m.) after he collided with a tow truck while he was driving under the influence of alcohol and talking on his cell phone.
