A free New York City concert by Hanson and rapper Drake was canceled Tuesday after too many people showed up and the crowd became unruly, with some concertgoers throwing chairs and bottles. Police were called in to help break up the crowd.

The set started at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Manhattan’s South Street Seaport, a popular tourist destination and outdoor concert venue at Pier 17, with an opening act and the MMMboppers and rising hip-hop star set to follow.

Organizers expected a crowd of 10,000, but about 20,000 people packed the area. Soon enough the masses got surly and fights broke out. Charis and bottles started flying just as Rapper Drake was about to go on stage.

Report of two people arrested and only a few with minor injuries.
