Armed Robbery at Marathon Gas Station Route 14 and Vail Ave.

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:20 a.m. Friday of an armed robbery with a knife at the Marathon Station, 102 West Northwest Highway. A customer was robbed at the gas station, and the offender fled westbound on Northwest Highway in a gold Ford Taurus with about five people in the car. An Arlington Heights police officer spotted the suspects in the vehicle near Northwest Highway and Chicago Avenue about one minute after the call was dispatched. Arlington Heights police had five in custody from the vehicle by 3:30 a.m. Friday after an immediate traffic stop.

All five vehicle occupants were transported to Arlington Heights police headquarters in custody. The driver’s vehicle was towed to a police holding area for investigation.
