TWO SERIOUS CRASHES IN BARTLETT SUNDAY
Bartlett police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:46 PM Sunday April 8, 2018 to a crash involving car vs pole with rollover at 42.008689, -88.204205 (US 20 and IL-59 Bartlett, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a crash with entrapment involving car vs pole crash with a rollover. Initially it was unknown if any additional vehicles were involved in the crash.

UPDATE: Two people were killed, and five people were injured in a crash that police say involved high speed.

Bartlett fire command on arrival reported a vehicle wrapped around a pole. The crash near the westbound lanes of Lake Street and near the ramp to Sutton Road (Route 59).

The crash reported to be located on westbound Lake St (US 20).

South Elgin Ambulance 24 was assigned as an additional ambulance and Streamwood Ambulance 32 was assigned as an additional ambulance by 12:50 p.m.

Two additional ambulances requested for a total of five ambulalnces at 12:52 p.m. Hanover Park Medic 16 was assigned as fourth ambulance at 12:56 p.m. The identity of the fifth ambulance assigned was not initially known.

Command reported four patients Code Red and four patients Code Yellow. Four patients were transported to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, and four patients were transported to St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates.

At least two of the crash victims may have had life-threatening injuries.

The crash was also reported on Waze, and westbound traffic on Lake Street remained backed up past Old Lake Street at 2:44 p.m.

The US 20/IL-59 crash was the second serious crash in Bartlett on Sunday. At about 10:36 a.m. Sunday, a head-on crash involving two small cars at IL-59 and Auburn Lane killed one person and injured at least one other person. A crash investigation was already ongoing at Auburn Lane where Route 59 was blocked between West Bartlett Road and Stearns Road.
