Several stoplights reported out along Northwest Highway near Ridge, and Arlington Heights Road and Park about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
A transformer was reported on fire in the 700 block of South Warren Avenue in Palatine. Fire crews reported a 35,0000 volt line down with ComEd responding to the scene.
Several houses without power in the 500 block of South Pine Avenue. Several residents on the block were also reporting a strange odor — possibly a natural gas odor. Fire department investigating. Nicor called and responding.
Trouble with power also in the 800 block of West George.
Power expected back up by noon. Some neighborhoods already had power restored by 10:45 a.m.
