DUI Arrest After Citizen Alerts Police About a Possible Drunk Driver at Gas Station

Arlington Heights police received a report from a motorist just after 7:00 p.m. Monday that a person at the Amoco station near Arlington Heights Road and Dundee Road was stumbling into their car and appeared intoxicated. The driver headed westbound on Dundee Road in a red Ford Escort wagon. Two Arlington Heights police squads caught up with the driver at Dundee and Ridge at about 7:05 p.m. Police officers arrested the driver for DUI and transported to Arlington Heights police headquarters about 7:15 p.m. The person was combative during transport. The driver’s Ford Escort was towed to a police holding area.
