Apple CEO Tim Cook shot back when asked how he would respond to the Cambridge Analytica controversy and what he’d do next; first says about Mark Zuckerberg, I wouldn’t be in this situation.

Apple CEO Tim Cook pontificated on how well Apple raises the bar, saying Apple is “like the guy on the corner store; what you sell in the corner store says something about you. And if you don’t want to sell that thing, you don’t sell it.” Apple iTunes sells the social media app Musical.ly, which has been connected to a number complaints for a few years regarding the potential for sexual predatory behavior, and actual incidents of sexual predatory behavior with teen girls as victims.

Cook said Apple looks at every app in detail. For example, “is it doing what it says it is doing?”

Regarding Mark Zuckerberg’s situation with Facebook, Tim Cook said he wouldn’t be in the situation in the first place. Cook said, “if our customer was our product, we’d make a ton of money.” He added, “we’ve elected not to do that.”

In an interview on MSNBC, Apple CEO Tim Cook criticized what he called Facebook’s business model, saying, “If our customer was our product, we could make a ton of money. We’ve elected not to do that.” Cook also announced that Apple will be investigating its massive app store for potential privacy issues.
