Arlington Heights police responded to a disorderly conduct call about 10:30 a.m. Friday for a suspicious female standing near the playground of St. James School near the first house south of the playground. A subject described as a female/black with a yellow jacket and red pants was standing watching the playground in front of a house in the 700 block of North Pine Avenue.

The subject apparently injured a police officer who had initially found the subject near Euclid and Evergreen. The police officer discovered the suspicious subject walking westbound on Euclid Avenue and went to speak with her at Evergreen Avenue, south of Euclid Avenue. The officer called for backup after a short struggle and announced that the subject was in custody.

The female was transported to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters just before 10:50 a.m. Friday. The police officer was transported to Northwest Community Hospital with a minor head injury. Police are working on a battery case related to this call.
