Blogware, the blog hosting service provided by Tucows, Inc. of Toronto,
Canada has experienced serious outages for almost the past two weeks.
Calls and e-mails to Blogware and Tucows contacts are going unanswered.
Their silence could lead to the assumption that another spam or
Denial-of-Service attack is underway. The other explanations would be a
failure of their database that serves blog pages or another type of
overload and excessive demand on their blog hosting service.
Tucows offers a blog hosting service known as Blogware that has
excellent features to design and publish a blog. Compared to other blog
hosting services, it has many powerful features with a good interface
for designing columns, adding headers and components that are
automatically displayed throughout blog pages. The last two weeks the
network or database that serves the blogs has become ‘unstable’ and has
developed three serious issues:
1. The Publisher’s Control Panel is impossible to access. When a
publisher tries to log in they get the following message:
We are temporarily unable to process your request. Please try again
later. Thank-you. Message ID 3546-BW2-1-2
2. When a viewer tries to view a blog that has been published, the
pageload times are often 20 to 120 seconds duration or they simply do
not load and the viewer get a message that states the page is not
available.
3. Readers who attempt to Sign Up for a Reader Account, get the
