Palatine Police, Palatine Fire Department and an Arlington Heights Fire Department fire engine responded to a gang fight and report of smoke, fire and possibly gasoline in a second floor hallway of the Motel 6 in the 1400 block of East Dundee Road in Palatine. Firefighters responded and found no fire or smoke just after 2:00 a.m. Saturday. The smoke report was likely the result of a discharged fire extinguisher.

Police arrived and found one suspect or victim in front of the Kia dealership with a significant injury. Palatine Fire Department firefighter/paramedics treated the victim at the scene.

Possibly one arrested for battery and transported to Palatine Police Department headquarters.

About 20 minutes later Cook County Sheriff’s deputies and Palatine police were out with a crashed car at Frontage Road (along Route 53) near Long Valley Road — less than a mile south of the Motel 6. Three male/Hispanics bailed out of the car after the crash. No word on any arrests from the crash.
