FRI DEC 18 2009 11:30 PM — Fatal fire in a 4-story building near Pine Grove Avenue and Grace Street. Battalion Chief 5 in command, second ambulance requested for a woman who was seriously injured and later died.
FRI DEC 18 2009 11:10 PM — Chicago Fire Department 2-11 alarm for a fire in a three-story brick apartment building at 7939 South Marquette Avenue. A ‘MAY DAY’ alert was called out with an EMS PLAN I when an interior staircase collapsed inside the building. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries.
