Burglary: Intruder Still in House Report on Dryden — Unfounded?

#ad▼

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday that a burglar might be in a home in the 900 block of South Dryden. Arlington Heights police arrived at the residence and determined that there was reason to believe someone was still in the house.

A resident came home to find a back door ajar and thought some motion and noise was detected inside the home. The resident also noticed that at least one item was missing from inside the house. Police thoroughly checked the home after having the resident communicate by cell phone with roommates that also lived at the home to confirm that they were absent from the home. The police then had to determine if there was an intruder or if a legitimate resident was inside sleeping or wearing headphones, etc.

No known arrests were made after at least five police squads were at the house for over thirty minutes.
