A car fire had traffic backed up on northbound Route 53 from Palatine
back to Northwest Highway about 9:15 a.m. Saturday morning. The car fire
was fully involved and was located right where the onramp enters
northbound Route 53 from eastbound Palatine Road.
No ramps were closed; only the northbound right lane of Route 53 was
blocked. The care fire was knocked down by Palatine Fire Department.
