Younan Chalabi, 37, of Des Plaines, and Christine Merza, 35, of Morton Grove were killed while passengers in a car driven by Ibrahim Y. Yaro, 34, of Chicago. Yaro’s car crashed with one other vehicle at the intersection of Oakton Street and Riverside Drive in Park Ridge about 2:10 a.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009.
Ibrahim Yaro was charged with aggravated DUI Tuesday after the fatal crash. Four other people were also injured in the car crash.
Park Ridge Fire Department, Des Plaines Fire Department, North Maine Fire Department and Niles Fire Department responded to the crash. Park Ridge Police Department Major Crash Unit is investigating the crash.
