UPDATE: The motorcyclist involved in pursuit involving the Bank of America robbery on Tuesday may not have been the bank robber. Although the motorcyclist fled from police at exceptionally high speeds, no charges have been filed yet.

Schaumburg police responded to a bank robbery just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bank of America at 1805 East Golf Road in Schaumburg.

The offender was seen eastbound on foot toward Route 53. The offender was described as a male/white with short, brown hair and glasses, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing khaki slacks and a white shirt, and had a black duffel bag carried over his shoulder. He implied he had a gun, but he did not display a gun.

Schaumburg police squad picked up a short pursuit, but lost a 2005 Suzuki blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ style motorcycle southbound IL-53/I-290 at Higgins Road.

Pursuit picked up near Elmhurst … chasing a blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ motorcycle in the area of Wolf Road (southbound) and Butterfield. Pursuit initiated near Elmhurst is updated now to southbound I-355 from Roosevelt Road. Hillside police was the law enforcement agency picking up the pursuit.

Police in the west suburbs are looking for a blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ motorcycle, driver with silver helmet and a black backpack.
