Computer Ransomware Attack at Home on S Cleveland Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:01 PM Sunday February 4, 2018 of a theft by deception in the block of 400 South Cleveland Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders contacted the victim via a popup message on her computer. The victim provided credit card information to the offender(s) to unfreeze computer.

The victim then contacted the credit card company to report incident.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 3:00 PM.
