Good News: Only 1″ for Arlington Heights Last Night; Bad News: Winter Storm Watch with 8″ Snow Thursday 6 AM to Saturday 5 AM

#ad▼

Any forecast that is two days out is always a little sketchy, but we are under a Winter Storm Watch because of a snow depth forecast of 8 inches in spots north of I-80, hitting Chicagoland between Thursday at 6 AM and Saturday at 6 AM. Snowfall may also continue until 5 AM Sunday.

It’s too early to determine what counties in Chicagoland will get the deepest snow, but snow is expected to get intense about midnight Thursday/Friday and remain intense until about noon Friday with a long taper of snowfall rate until 5 AM Sunday.

The snow-to-liquid ratio may be a little wetter than the last two snow systems at 12-15:1, but fortunately not a heavy, wet, deep snow.
