Gurnee police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:00 AM Tuesday February 6, 2018 to a report of a truck crash with injuries and a semi-trailer truck on fire 42.355468, -87.932624 (I-94 and IL 21 Gurnee, IL). A fire crew on arrival reported six semi-trailer trucks and vehicles involved in a crash with one semi-trailer truck fully-involved with fire.
Fire crews on arrival reported injuries south of the burning truck.
Fire crew or fire command reported the burning truck was hauling paper.
Some fire crews are responding northbound on the southbound ramp to Route 21.
There is a ramp closure on the southbound I-94 ramp to Route 21 while fire crews are entering I-94 the wrong way.
Southbound I-94 was backed up almost to Stearns Road at 11:00 a.m.
