Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 9:11 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026 to a report of a crash with injuries at Rand Road and Louis Street near Menards in Mount Prospect that closed Rand Road between Kensington Road and Central Road for almost two hours. The crash was located about 1500 feet northwest of a fatal Kawasaki motorcycle vs Subaru Outback crash that occurred at Rand Road and Henry Street on Saturday, June 20, 2026. A motorcyclist was killed in the crash at Rand Road and Henry Street.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect discovered three motorcycles down after a crash on Rand Road at Louis Street near Menards. Rescuers requested three total ambulances be assigned to the scene.
One victim, who crashed a red 2025 Honda CBR650R, was age 29, 5’10” 185 LBS with gender not disclosed.
A second victim, who crashed a green 2025 Kawasaki Ninja 650, was age 33, 5’4″ 185 LBS with gender not disclosed.
A third victim, who crashed an unknown vehicle, was age 21, 5’2″ 120 LBS with gender not disclosed.
At least one of the victims was transported to Northwest Community Hospital.
Rand Road was shut down in both directions between Central Road and Kensington Road near Randhurst until about 11:05 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2026.
There were no alerts from the Village of Mount Prospect on their official Facebook page or other social media regarding road closures due to the crash that shut down a US highway, Route 12, also known as Rand Road. Additionally there was no news release regarding the crash.
Three ambulances were assigned to the scene.
No other fire department information was available.
Fourteen Mount Prospect police officers were assigned to this scene. Additionally, police officers from the Des Plaines Police Department and the Arlington Heights Police Department were assigned to assist the Mount Prospect Police Department with crowd control and traffic control.
The Village of Mount Prospect did not fully comply with the FOIA request regarding this crash. Specifically, no fire department incident reports were provided as requested, and no reasons were provided indicating why the fire department incident reports were not provided.

Tips were received by two individuals who live in Arlington Heights, and one individual who was a passerby a significant distance from the crash scene.
The two individuals in Arlington Heights reported hearing racing engines that sounded like a police pursuit with a lot sirens east of their location in Arlington Heights, which they estimated was somewhere in Mount Prospect.
The passerby noticed and reported a road closure with a provided photo at Rand Road near Kensington Road, but was not aware there was a crash east of Rand Road and Kensington Road.
