

The Palatine Police Department, with assistance from the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS) and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1–99 block of East Dundee Quarter as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the search warrant, investigators recovered suspected ecstasy (MDMA), cocaine, psilocybin (magic mushrooms), cannabis, alprazolam (Xanax), THC vape cartridges, multiple firearms, ammunition, body armor, military-style ballistic helmets, fireworks, and a large amount of U.S. currency.
Two suspects were arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Edgar Garcia Martinez, 20, of the 1–99 block of E. Dundee Quarter, Palatine, has been charged with:
Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon While in Possession of Body Armor (Class X Felony)
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (MDMA/Ecstasy) (Class 1 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Psilocybin) (Class 4 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of Cannabis (More than 100 Grams) (Class 4 Felony)
Possession of Firearm Ammunition Without a Valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (Class A Misdemeanor)
Unlawful Possession of Fireworks (Class A Misdemeanor)
Additionally, Andres Garcia, 35, of the 1–99 block of E. Dundee Quarter, Palatine, has been charged with:
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Loaded Firearm)(Prior felony Conviction) (Class 2 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Psilocybin) (Class 4 Felony)
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Alprazolam/Xanax) (Class 4 Felony)
Possession of Firearm Ammunition Without a Valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card (Class A Misdemeanor)
Both defendants are scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Room 108 of the Cook County Third Municipal District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
