Death Investigation for Second Body in a Second Pond in 2 Months, This Time Near Walden Office Square Schaumburg

Police and firefighters, and paramedics from Schaumburg responded about 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to a report of a body in a pond near Walden Office Square, about three miles from the location of another death investigation — a pond at Algonquin Road and Parkside Driver, where another deceased male was discovered on Friday, April 3, 2026. The male/black, age 58, discovered on April 3, 2026, was a resident of Chicago.

According to the Schaumburg Police Department, at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 the Schaumburg Police Department received a call reporting a body in a pond in the block of 1800 Walden Office Square. Schaumburg police, firefighters and paramedics located and recovered the body of a deceased adult male white victim.

Detectives are currently conducting a death investigation. The deceased was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination, and has been described as a male/white (not Hispanic), age 52. There were no obvious signs of trauma to the deceased, according to the Schaumburg Police Department. The deceased has been tentatively identified, and initially his name was withheld pending family notification.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office performed an autopsy Thursday, May 28, 2026, but no primary cause of death was indicated. The death investigation also involves pending toxicology results.
