Firefighters from Streamwood began working at a serious house fire involving a fatality and one person with injuries on Southwood Circle, one block east of Sunnydale Elementary School Thursday morning, a few hours before the school day begins Thursday.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Streamwood responded about 4:55 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, to a report of a house fire in the block of 100 Southwood Circle in Streamwood. Victims were rescued from the house. One victim was found unresponsive, and one person was transported to the hospital. A firefighter was also treated by paramedics.
The fire was declared out by about 5:45 a.m.
As of 6:00 a.m., no official notification regarding any incident or traffic delays was available from the Village of Streamwood via their official website, Facebook page, or X.com timeline (Streamwood does not indicate they manage an X timeline).
