Police, firefighters and paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2026 to an incident connected to a death outside Ascension Alexian Brothers medical center — possibly near the Emergency Room ambulance entrance (ER bay).
A tip was inbound to CARDINAL NEWS Wednesday, April 1, 2026 that has not been verified; however, the information from the tip is given some credibility because of a Cook County Medical Examiner report that indicates that a male, age 35, a resident of Roselle, was pronounced dead at the address of the hospital at 800 Biesterfield Road in Elk Grove Village. The “Manner of Death” and the “Primary Cause” of death was not initially indicated by the Cook County Medical Examiner.
UPDATE: The Cook County Medical Examiner ruling update during the afternoon or evening Thursday indicated that the incident at the hospital address was a suicide by self-inflicted gunshot.
The tip indicated that someone walked up to the ER bay with a sign that said “I’m an organ donor” and then shot himself. Again, the information has not been verified — not from a police department authority, and not from a hospital official.
A Cook County Medical Examiner report connected to a death investigation by Schaumburg Police Department outdoors in a residential neighborhood indicated that a male, age 41, died of a gunshot wound involving a suicide in the block of 100 Stirling Lane in Schaumburg about 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
