Palatine Police conducted a traffic stop about 12:39 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at approximately 12:39 a.m., in the area of Baldwin Road and Dundee Road after observing a gray Mazda sedan commit a traffic violation.
Police officers made contact with the driver and a passenger. The driver was identified as Domingo A. Molina, age 44, of the block of 1600 North Karlov Ave, Chicago about 28 miles via shortest roadway travel.

During the investigation by police on the scene a search of the vehicle was conducted, which led to the recovery of a loaded .38 caliber revolver, later confirmed to be stolen.
Molina was taken into custody and transported to the Palatine Police Department for processing.
Following investigation and consultation with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Molina was charged with:
Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Repeat Felony Offender (Class X Felony)
Molina was ordered held pending his next court date on April 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 108 at the Cook County Courthouse.
