Police activity at the Ashton Apartments near Falcon Drive and Goebbert Road was due to a shot fired in a suicide in an apartment building Monday morning, March 16, 2026.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 10:21 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2026 after a male suffered a fatal self-inflicted gunshot wound in an apartment unit at 2348 South Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights. The individual was described as a male/black, age 48, a resident of Arlington Heights. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled the manner of death as a suicide. Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
