Police officers from Palatine responded about 4:58 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2026, to a report of a commercial burglary that had occurred at a business in the block of 500 North Hicks Road, Palatine.
During the investigation, police investigators determined that a subject made unlawful entry into the business during non-business hours through a ground-floor window. Surveillance video later captured images of the subject inside the business removing items.
The subsequent investigation identified the subject as Kevin Garcia, 25, of the 1400 block of N. Ports O’Call Dr., Palatine. On March 26, 2026, Garcia was located by Palatine Police officers and taken into custody.
Following investigation and consultation with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Garcia was charged with:
Burglary – (Class 2 Felony)
Garcia appeared at a detention hearing on Friday, March 27, 2026, and was ordered held pending his next court date on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. in Room 108 at the Cook County 3rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
