
A identity of a homicide victim found near a dumpster at an Elk Grove Village hotel has been identified as Colleen Bagley, age 50, of Fox Lake, Illinois.
During the investigation of the homicide at InTown Suites Extended Stay Chicago IL- Elk Grove/O’Hare, 2411 Landmeier Road in Elk Grove Village, an acquaintance, who was sharing a room with Colleen Bagley, was taken into custody by the Elk Grove Village Police Department. On Friday, February 27th at 6:20 p.m. the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved First Degree Murder [720 ILCS 5/9-1(a)(1)] charges against Arturo F. Taylor, age 54, of Fox Lake, Illinois. Allegedly, Arturo F. Taylor stabbed the victim multiple times following a dispute in their hotel room. The defendant was transported to the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse located at 2650 South California Avenue Chicago, Illinois for a detention hearing on the morning of February 28th.
Evidence indicates this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community, according to the Elk Grove Village Police Department.

Case Involving Woman Found Dead Outside Hotel in Elk Grove Village Is a Homicide by Multiple Sharp Force Injuries
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Elk Grove Village responded about 4:18 a.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 to a report of an unresponsive person (a female) outside the InTown Suites Extended Stay Chicago IL- Elk Grove/O’Hare, 2411 Landmeier Road in Elk Grove Village. Police officers discovered a deceased adult female at the location, according to the police department.
The Elk Grove Village Police Department Investigations Section, in partnership with the Major Crimes Assistance Team, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation remains ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
Preliminary information indicates that the death appears to be an “isolated event, and there is no known threat to the community,” according to the Elk Grove Village Police Department.
According to the Cook County Medical Examiners Office, the victim was a female/white (not Hispanic) with a primary cause of death listed as “Multiple Sharp Force Injuries.” The death was ruled a homicide. The age of the victim was not provided by the Cook County Medical Examiners Office.
