Police, firefighter, and paramedics from Arlington Heights responded about 10:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2026 to a report of a crash with injuries at Palatine Road and Rand Road in Arlington Heights. One person was transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. The crash was an intersection collision involving a male driver of a minivan and an unknown driver of a dark sedan. A person in the dark sedan was transported to the hospital. The driver of the minivan refused EMS transport, and initially at the scene did not appear injured.
Westbound Palatine Road and eastbound Rand Road was closed during rescue and crash cleanup. Left turns were not permitted from eastbound Palatine Road to US-12 WEST (Rand Road westbound).
There was a lot of debris in the intersection, and both vehicles were likely totaled with significant damage.
The intersection appears to be clear by 11:20 p.m. Friday.
