Police, firefighters and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 12:40 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026 to a report of a crash with injuries into the front door of GameStop, 1026 South Elmhurst Road in Mount Prospect. A Des Plaines Fire Department fire engine was also assigned to the scene.
Initially, there was no information available regarding the condition of the driver of the car. A witness reported that the driver did not exit the car on their own, but it was unknown if a medical event preceded the crash. A Mount Prospect Fire Department paramedic crew was assigned EMS, and the Des Plaines Fire Department engine crew worked on securing the scene and securing and any hazards. There appeared to be a fluid leak coming from the front engine area — possibly the radiator.
