Barrington police officers responded Friday afternoon, December 26, 2025 to a report of a domestic incident in the block of 200 Astoria Court in Barrington. During their initial investigation, police officers determined that the female resident at the location had been involved in a domestic altercation that occurred at another location within the Village of Barrington.
A male subject was later arrested, suspected of committing domestic battery, and was transported to the Barrington Police Department police station for questioning. The subject was identified as Karlton Scott, age 21, of the block of 100 Walton Street in Barrington.
Following a review of the case, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved a charge of one count of aggravated domestic battery with strangulation (a Class 2 felony) against Karlton Scott, Jr.
Carlton Scott is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Thursday January 1, 2026 at the Cook County George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building in Chicago.
