Initial release of information was a little out of ordinary because the neither the police department nor the medical examiners office were first to release the identity of the murder victims. Instead a tribute to Rob Reiner and Michele Singer from Los Angles Mayor Karen Bass was the first confirmation of the victims’ identities by deduction.
Two people were found dead at director Rob Reiner’s home in the Brentwood area of Los Angeles on Sunday, December 14, 2025. A 78-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were the only descriptions initially released regarding the two victims. Rob Reiner is 78 years-old, and his wife Michele Singer is 68 years-old. The identities and circumstances were in the early stages of investigation, according to initial reports
The home owned by Rob Reiner is located in the 200 block of Chadbourne Avenue, Brentwood.
Police, firefighters and paramedics responded to an EMS call about 3:30 PM, and discovered the bodies.
Initially the identities of the victim were not unconfirmed, but TMZ reported law enforcement sources informed the tabloid that the bodies were Rob Reiner and Michele Singer, and that both suffered lacerations consistent with a knife.
The LAPD Robbery Homicide Division is investigating.
