
The Palatine Police Department announced Thursday, December 26, 2025 an arrest following a domestic-related incident that occurred on Christmas Eve (Wednesday) December 24, 2025, in the 1800 block of North Green Lane in Palatine.
Police, firefighters and paramedics from Palatine responded Wednesday night to a report of a domestic-related disturbance involving a 26-year-old female victim to an apartment in the block of 1800 North Green Lane North. As a result of the investigation, Jarvin I. Mendez Quintanilla, age 28, of the block of 1800 Green Lane North in Palatine, was taken into custody.
Palatine Police Detectives continued the investigation, which was presented to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. On December 25, 2025, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the following charges against Mendez Quintanilla:
Aggravated Kidnapping (Class X Felony)
Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault (three counts, Class X Felonies)
Aggravated Domestic Battery (Class 2 Felony)
On December Thursday 26, 2025, Mendez Quintanilla was transported to the Cook County 3rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows for a detention hearing. Following the hearing, he was ordered detained and will remain in custody pending his next court appearance, which is scheduled for January 22, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
