
Police, firefighters and paramedics from North Chicago responded about 8:06 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 to a report of a crash with injuries and entrapment at Route 41 and Route 137 (Buckley Road). Police, firefighters and paramedics arrived on the scene to find a Nissan Altima sedan with heavy damage in the into, and partially underneath, the rear or a semi-trailer.
Firefighters and paramedics from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff were assigned to assist with the extrication and rescue.
One person was extricated, and was transported to Level 1 Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Initially, the driver’s condition was not disclosed.
Northbound lanes of Route 41 were shut down at Route 60, and southbound lanes of Route 41 were shut down at Route 137.
Lake County MCAT ( Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County) investigators were on the scene assisting North Chicago Police Department with the investigation.
