The Arlington Heights Police Department reported on July 30, 2025 that on July 23, 2025, the Arlington Heights Police Department joined agencies across the state in observing the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, “Speed Awareness Day.” The traffic safety campaign focused on increased speed enforcement in an effort to reduce traffic crashes—one-third of which are attributed to speeding
(2023 Illinois Crash Facts and Statistics).
Increased enforcement by Arlington Heights Police Department officers on July 23rd, 2025 resulted in the following arrests and/or citations:
• 76 – Speeding
• 5 – Expired Registration
• 3 – Aggravated Speeding
• 2 – Distracted Driving
• 2 – Uninsured Motorist
• 2 – No Valid Driver’s License
• 2 – Suspended Driver’s License
• 1 – Suspended Registration
