The Palatine Police Department, in cooperation with federal law enforcement authorities, has arrested a Lake in the Hills man on charges related to the possession of child pornography following a joint investigation.
In March 2025, federal law enforcement authorities contacted the Palatine Police Department regarding evidence recovered from a hard drive previously in the possession of a former Palatine resident. The device was found to contain numerous files consistent with child sexual abuse material, some of which depicted victims under the age of 13.
Following a thorough investigation by Palatine Police Detectives, Konrad Skora, 31 years old, of the 5500 block of Alexandria Drive in Lake in the Hills, was identified as the individual responsible for the possession of the device and the illicit material. Skora was taken into custody without incident on June 30, 2025.
On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one class 2 felony count of possession of child pornography (720 ILCS 5/11-20.1(a)(6)). Skora was transported to the Cook County 3rd District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows for a detention hearing and was ordered detained until his next court hearing scheduled for July 25, 2025 at 9:00 AM in room 108 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse.
