Lake County Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday evening at a fast food restaurant in Beach Park.
Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies responded about 7:35 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025 to a fast-food restaurant in the 38900 block of North Lewis Road, Beach Park, for an armed robbery. Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrived and spoke to the two victim employees of the restaurant, who initially reported they were not injured.
A preliminary investigation indicated that a light-skinned man, possibly in his late 20s to mid-30s entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, and a surgical mask to cover his face. While in the store, he produced a knife and demanded money. After stealing money from the cash register, he fled on foot.
A Lake County Sheriff’s K-9 unit responded and conducted a track, which ended nearby, in a parking lot to the east of the restaurant, indicating the man likely entered a vehicle.
Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with any information is encouraged to make a tip to sheriff’s detectives at www.lakecountyil.gov/sheriff or Lake County CrimeStoppers at http://www.lakecountycrimestoppers.org/
