Mount Prospect Police Investigating Shots Fired Incident in Residential Neighborhood East of Randhurst Village

Police officers from Mount Prospect responded about 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025 to a reports of shots fired near Wheeling Road and Dogwood Lane from multiple 9-1-1 callers. Mount Prospect police officers arrived on scene and were unable to locate anyone injured or any damage to property in the area. However, police officers located several shell casings in the area, and are working to identify the persons involved in this incident, according to the Mount Prospect Police Department.

The Mount Prospect Police Department announced there will be an increased presence in the area as a result of this incident.

The Mount Prospect Police Department did not specify whether the casings were found in the apartment complex west of Wheeling Road or the neighborhood of single-family homes east of Wheeling Road.




The Mount Prospect Police Department continues to investigate this incident. Flock license plate cameras in the area are being reviewed and anyone who has any video footage or any information that might assist with this investigation is urged to call the Mount Prospect Police Department Investigations Section at 847-870-5654.
