The Prospect Heights Police Department on Monday, March 25, 2024 announced that the police department is seeking the community’s help in identifying and locating two suspects involved in a gang-related shots fired incident that occurred in the Palwaukee Plaza.
Prospect Heights police officer responded about 8:28 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2024, to a report of shots fired in the block of 600 North Milwaukee Avenue in Prospect Heights.
Upon arrival, police officers located several people in the back of a store, visibly shaken up and frightened as a result of the gunshots fired. Following the investigation, Prospect Heights police officers learned that two suspects approached a store and fired approximately 15 bullets towards that store, targeting two individuals that were standing in front of the store.
Police learned that the two suspects fled on foot, westbound toward the block of 800 Piper Lane. Officers searched the area but did not find them.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the shots fired incident was gang related.
During the subsequent investigation, Prospect Heights officers obtained video and photograph images of the suspects, but have not been unable to identify the suspects.
