Police, firefighter, and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 5:37 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 to a report that an employee was injured during a robbery at Northern Tool, 201 West Rand Road in Mount Prospect.
The scene was declared secure by about 5:42 p.m.
Mount Prospect Fire Department paramedics transported one patient to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
The only physical description available initially was that two male offenders fled in a U-Haul truck.
Northern Tool was closed for business immediately after the robbery and locked their doors. One customer entered the store before the doors were locked, but was told by an employee that there was “an issue”, and that the store was closed.
The store normally closes at 7:00 p.m. on weekdays, and earlier on weekends.
